Title: Which Disasters Would You Like to See Return?

Disasters have been a staple for SimCity. Which ones would you like to see in the new version?


Personally I would like the return of floods/hurricanes from SimCity 2000 and the Toxic cloud from SimCity 3000.
The flood one would be especially interesting to see the effect on your city, and the recovery.

Tornado, Meteor, Earthquake, and Floods/Hurricanes!

Yea, the floods/hurricane as I mentioned is one I want back... those were interesting.
It'd be interesting to see the effects, given how far graphics have come since SC2K...

I suppose they're a bit better than in sc4....

We need actual tornadoes though. As in a quarter of a mile wide, with different categories (and the damage extent is adjusted accordingly). And I'd like to also see the tornado siren brought back, they've very commonplace across the Great Plains region in Texas.

Not to mention cyclones/hurricanes near coastal areas and flooding would be nice also. Another thing that would be cool is if these weather events occurred under certain conditions such as severe storms. In fact, dynamic weather in itself would be nice.

Exactly. The hurricane disaster would be awesome. Hail, snow storms (hey, new city service - snow removal!) etc. would be nifty. If that does make its way into the game, it'd probably be DLC or an expansion pack. Just look to TS3, that's what I am predicting SC will turn into, sales wise.

But flooding for sure would be interesting to see...

I do think SC is going to make most of its money off of EP content and DLC instead of the actual game much like TS3, yes.
So there will probably be a lot of stuff missing from the barebones game.

Most likely. Nonetheless, even so, hopefully they do make those additions. As long as it isn't too expensive (lol pipedream, I know) I'd consider getting those EPs or DLC.

If I purchase this game, I'd definitely test the disasters. :P
